  • My journey into mosaics started in painting and sculpture. Working with found objects and paint. I really saw tile as just another way to apply color and have used it in many of my assemblage pieces which seem to crossover and back from mosaic reliefs to more traditional assemblage. For the past several years, I have been doing mostly large scale public works. I like the challenges of designing work to be walked on, sat on, danced on and just used. Visually, my work is probably more spare than most mosaic artists. If I were to name one thing that I think distinguishes my mosaic work, the thing I do best, it would be the way I use and combine materials. I try to give the materials a voice and let them tell the story.
