Didier Guedj

  • Mosaicist Didier Guedj was born in Montauban, France, February 13, 1962. At age 23, he bought a one-way ticket to the United States, landed in San Francisco and made it his home. In his seventh year of working in the tile industry, Didier was asked to set a tabletop surface in a checkerboard style. This project launched his exploration into the world of mosaics. Eight years later his interpretation of this intense and highly rewarding art form continues to evolve.
  • Didier seeks to convey with an array of color, geometrical shapes and movement the essence of life inherent in human nature. He seeks to convey our human desire to better ourselves and share the resulting happiness with our family, friends and community.
  • Didier is a self-taught mosaicist and works with the following mediums: glass beads, ceramic, china, marble, mirror, glass tiles. His fifteen years as a professional tile setter both informs and complements his mosaic art. The possibilities of where to take this fascinating art form next continue to expand.
